Team USA Advances to the Round of 16 – Next Up: COLOMBIA

By  |

Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! #teamUSA is moving on in the 2015 World Cup after 1-0 win against Nigeria last week. With an unfortunate draw against Sweden, the US needed a win to solidify their position in the tournament. Abby Wambach with amazing presence off a corner kick, buried the ball in the back of the net with a one-touch volley.

For the United States, their first game in the round of 16 is particularly important. Colombia (third place in Group F) is a feisty team, to say the least. In the 2012 Olympics, Abby Wambach was sucker punched by Colombian player, Lady Adrade. US had possession going towards goal and Wambach goes straight to the ground. We have confidence team USA is prepared and only focusing on a win in this 2015 World Cup match.

Let’s hope Colombia can stick to the game of soccer and keep all boxing techniques behind 😉
