Health and Beauty Benefits from Hitting the Sauna

By  |

There’s nothing better than seeing a healthy glow on your face. Experts say that a sauna session can do more to detoxify and freshen your skin than anything else. I absolutely love to work up a sweat and feel rejuvenated! Not so stoked on a traditional sauna? Don’t forget about steam rooms, infrared saunas, and oxygen steam saunas.

Go Buffs! 😉

  • Relaxed muscles
  • Elimination of toxins
  • Weight loss
  • Improved skin
  • Cure of illness

Just the Facts

  • Heat relaxes muscles and allows the body to become more relaxed. This kind of relaxation reduces stress levels, helps overall mental clarity and also improves emotional and physical health.
  • Heat also helps you sweat more rapidly and pushes out toxins that can cause illness. Sweat is the body eliminating toxins and impurities.
  • When sitting in a sauna, you can burn anywhere from 300-600 calories in fifteen to thirty minutes, which is equivalent to an hour or two of brisk walking. Saunas also work well with your metabolism, increasing its speed and intensity.

Sauna Water Bottle

Always keep your water bottle close by! Drinking water before and after your session is important. You can also turn to coconut water, because it’s super hydrating as well.

Do you share a love for all things steamy and hot? (Get your mind out of the gutter! Or don’t.) Tell us about it.

Kassidy (or more commonly known by her friends as Kass or Sass), was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. As a graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder, she completed her four years with a soccer scholarship and English Lit. degree. Kassidy finds interest in all things style, beauty and entertainment, feels most complete when by the ocean and living a simpler life, and loves hearing "feel good" songs for the first time, beautiful sunny days in Boulder, and transforming into Beyonce when on the dance floor. Her motto? Keeping the sass alive.
